Riding Lessons for All
Here at Back Lane Stables we have a wide range of lessons and hacks available for all ages and abilities, we have something to suit everyone!
Below you will find the different type of lessons available, with prices and a brief description of what each lesson can offer you.
If you have a specific lesson in mind that you do not see listed below, please speak to one of our instructors today, who will be happy to help.
We can also offer lessons to clients on their own horses.

Please note for anyone who has not ridden with us before, before you can ride with us you will need to complete a Rider Registration form. This can either be downloaded from the below link or forms are available in the office.

Please note when booking lessons we have a 24 hour cancellation policy in place. For any lesson cancelled where 24 hours is not given,full payment will be required.

Private Lessons & Hacks
Private lessons and hacks are available during a week day and are suitable for all ages and abilities. These lessons can be based on flatwork, polework or show jumping.
Hacks are available to clients who are confident in canter, however we can also offer walk and trot hacks.
We can also offer private lessons to clients on their own horses.

Semi-Private Lessons & Hacks
Semi-private lessons and hacks are available during a week day, with lessons suitable for all ages and abilities. These lessons can be based on flatwork, polework or show jumping.
Hacks are available to clients who are confident in canter, however we can also offer walk and trot hacks.

Group Lessons & Hacks
Adult and children's group lessons and mixed hacks are available during a week day/night and on a weekend, for riders of all ages and abilities. These lessons can be based on flatwork, polework, show jumping.
Hacks are available to clients who are confident in canter, however we can also offer walk and trot hacks.

Semi-Private Lessons & Hacks
Semi-private lessons and hacks are available during a week day, with lessons suitable for all ages and abilities. These lessons can be based on flatwork, polework or show jumping.
Hacks are available to clients who are confident in canter, however we can also offer walk and trot hacks.

Pony Club
Pony Club is designed for children who are working confidently in canter both in the arena and out hacking. If you're unsure if your child should be in Pony Club, please speak to an instructor today.
In Pony Club, children spend 45minutes in Stable Management and 45minutes riding. During Stable Management, children will work towards their Pony Club badges/tests.
On the riding side, children will again work towards their Pony Club badges/tests, but they will do various activities such as riding in the arena, going out hacking, focusing on dressage and show jumping and at Christmas, they will work towards their festive dress ride.
Pony Club classes take place on a Tuesday night, Saturday and Sunday.

Fallabella Club
Fallabella Club is designed for the younger members of our Pony Club.
To move in to Fallabella Club you will need to have regular beginner lessons on a weekend/private lesson basis and your instructor will assess you and move you up to the class when they feel you are ready.
In Fallabella Club, children spend 45minutes in Stable Management and 45minutes Riding. During Stable Management, children will work towards their junior progressive riding certificates and Pony Club badges/tests in a fun but safe way, whilst learning how to look after their ponies.
On the riding side, children will again work towards their progressive riding and pony club badges/tests, but they will do various activities such as riding in the arena, going out hacking and even mini shows.
Fallabella classes take place on a Saturday and Sunday.

Side Saddle
If you would like to try a new discipline this year, then why not try Side Saddle.
Side Saddle lessons are available to clients who can independently and confidently ride in walk, trot and canter.
Side Saddle lessons can take place during the week day and alongside private and semi-private lessons, we also run Side Saddle Demos and clinics with external instructors.

Pony Parties & Hen Parties
The ideal way to celebrate your birthday or hen do and make it a fun and memorable experience.

Pony Days
Pony Days are fun and educational days held throughout the school holidays. Suitable for children and teenagers, you will spend the day learning how to care for your pony, as well as enjoying riding them.
Whether you're just learning to ride or have been riding for a number of years, pony days are suitable for all.
Pony Days are held on a week day throughout the various school holidays.
