Back Lane Stables aim to offer professional and educational tuition in a friendly and fun environment. With a team of dedicated, hardworking and qualified instructors and horses, combined with invaluable experience, we are proud to be recognised as a BHS approved riding school.

We are a centre member of the Pony Club and British Riding Clubs, opening up additional opportunities for both children and adults, with and without their own horses. We are also a BHS Approved Training Centre offering training and assessments for the BHS Stage 1 exam and the BHS Ride Safe award.
We have even starred in films and CBBC programmes!
Our Facilities
Since opening nearly 20 years ago, we have continued to expand and improve our facilities to enable us to cater for all riding abilities. Some of the facilities we are now able to provide include:
Two outdoor all weather arenas with Flexi-ride surface one of which is 60m long, which are both flood-lit allowing lessons to take place at night and during the darker, winter months.
An onsite café with a lecture room, viewing gallery and onsite toilet.
A full set of showjumps and dressage markers enabling various competitions and training to take place all year round.

We are delighted to confirm we have been awarded a 5 star rating (the highest available), 3 year licence by Leeds City Council to operate as a Riding School under DEFRA's more stringent regulatory process introduced in 2018. This is a reflection of the high standards of equine care, quality of horses & ponies, and quality of facilities and tuition which were recognised by the external licence inspection.
